Spacing at planting to make ranging from 20-40 cm. Spacing commonly used is 30 x 20 cm, 25 x 25 cm, or 20 x 20 cm.

Spacing should be organized, in order to obtain plants growing space uniform and easily weeded. Soybean planting distance depends on the level of soil fertility and plant traits in question. In the fertile soil, planting distance is more tenuous, and vice versa on the barren land plant spacing can be sealed.

If large areas of land and processing is done by piracy, seeding is done by deep furrows approximately 5 cm. While the spacing distance between the grooves with each other can be made 50-60 cm, and for a double groove spacing of 20 cm is made.

Usual planting system is:

a) single-crop system

In this system, the entire land planted with soybeans in order to obtain a good soybean production quality and quantity. Soybeans were planted with this system, require dry land but enough to contain water, such as former paddy land planted with rice and ground Rendeng moor at the beginning of the rainy season. Another plus is to facilitate the eradication of pests and diseases. The weakness of this system are: the spread of pests and diseases of soybean relatively quickly, so that planting soybeans with this system requires special attention. Spacing of soy as a single plant are: 20 x 20 cm; 20 x 35 cm or 20 x 40 cm.

b) a mixture of plant systems

With this system must meet the following requirements:
1. Age plants are not much different.
2. Plants that one does not have the nature beat wild plants.
3. Type of pests and diseases together or one of the plants resistant to pests and diseases.
4. Both crops are crops, such as soybeans with cowpea / peanuts, soybeans with corn, soybean with cassava.

c) System intercropping

This system is commonly applied to the soil that gets water continuously over time, such as paddy land that has technical irrigation. To get a good quality soy, soy usually planted simultaneously.

The timing of planting soybeans must be precise, so that young plants are not affected by flooding or drought. Because soy age according to the recommended varieties ranged between 75-120 days, then you should soybeans planted towards the end of the rainy season, which is when the soil is slightly dry but still contains enough water.

Appropriate planting time in each region is very different. As a guideline: when grown in dry land, the best planting time is the beginning of the rainy season. When grown in paddy soil, planting the most appropriate time is towards the end of the rainy season. In irrigated rice fields, soybeans can be planted in early to mid dry season.
